Enabling Chat Filters (as a viewer)
Filters can block offensive language (profanity, discrimination, etc.) in live chats.
- During a stream, scroll to the chat box.
- Click the Settings icon (bottom-right, next to "Chat").
- Select Chat Filters → Toggle ON (turns purple).
Reporting a Streamer
If a streamer violates guidelines, you can report them.
- Below the live video, click the three dots → Report [username].
- Follow the on-screen prompts. (Twitch will review your report.)
Changing Mature Content Settings
For streamers 18+ with younger viewers:
- From Home Dashboard → Settings → Stream.
- Under Mature Content, toggle ON (purple tick)
Changing Moderation Settings
Recommended for younger streamers/audiences:
- Go to Home Dashboard → Settings → Moderation → AutoMod Rulesets.
- Select a moderation level (1 = lowest, 4 = strictest)
- Save.
(AutoMod uses AI to filter harmful messages.)
Blocking Terms and Phrases
- Navigate to Home Dashboard → Settings → Moderation → Blocked Terms and Phrases.
- Search for a term → Choose Private (only you see blocked terms) or Public (all mods see them) → Add.
Chats containing these words will be blocked
