How to Set Parental Controls on Nintendo Wii U

To set up parental controls on the Wii U, follow these steps:

1. Step 1 – From the Wii U Menu, choose “Parental Controls.”

Read the two introductory messages. Tap “Next” or press the A button to move past them.

2. Step 2 – Enter a 4-digit PIN of your choice, then tap “OK.”

This PIN will be required to adjust the settings in future.

3. Step 3 – You’ll be prompted to choose a secret question.

This will be used for PIN recovery if needed. Tap “OK” to continue.

4. Step 4 – Select a question and type in your answer, then tap “OK.”

5. Step 5 – Register your email address.

You’ll be asked to enter an email to help recover access if needed. Tap “Next” or press A, and complete the registration process.

6. Step 6 – Go to the Parental Controls section.

Use the arrows or the left/right buttons on the d-pad to choose the user profile you want to manage.

7. Step 7 – Choose the settings to adjust.

With the correct user selected, press up/down on the d-pad to scroll through available settings. Tap the setting or press A to make changes.

Once finished, press B or tap “Back” to exit and save your changes.
