How to Set Parental Controls on Nintendo Wii

To help protect your child while using the Nintendo Wii, follow these steps to activate parental controls:

1. Step 1 – Open the Wii Menu and select the Wii icon in the bottom-left corner. On the next screen, choose “Wii Settings.”

2. Step 2 – Scroll to the right on the “Wii System Settings” menu and select “Parental Controls.” Read the information provided and confirm each of the four introductory screens.

3. Step 3 – Set a 4-digit PIN that you’ll use to access the parental controls in the future. You will also be asked to choose a “Secret Question” for PIN recovery.

4. Step 4 – From the “Parental Controls” main screen, select “Game Settings and PIN.”

5. Step 5 – Choose “Highest Game Rating Allowed.” Pick the BBFC age rating for games you want to allow. Press “OK” and then “Confirm” to save your settings.

6. Step 6 – Back on the “Parental Controls” screen, select “Other Settings.”

Here, you can apply further restrictions, including:

• Purchasing controls

• Messaging restrictions

• Access to the Internet Channel

• Access to the News Channel
