Netflix setup for parents

Managing a Netflix Profile

Step 1 - Access your account

  • Open the Netflix app and log in to your profile

Step 2 - Navigate to profile settings

  • Tap "My Netflix" in the bottom right corner
  • Select the 3-line menu icon in the top right corner
  • Choose "Manage Profiles" from the menu

Step 3 - Select the profile to modify

  • Pick which profile you want to adjust
  • You're now ready to configure settings for this account

To Set a Maturity Rating

Step 1 - Access your child’s profile settings

  • From the Edit Profile page, select Viewing Restrictions

Step 2 - Adjust age ratings

  • Click Maturity Ratings

Step 3 - Choose appropriate content levels

  • Select the age ratings you’re comfortable with

Alternatively, enable Children’s Profile to restrict content to only child-friendly shows and movies

To Block Specific Titles:

Step 1 - Open the blocking tool

  • From the Viewing Restrictions menu, select Block Titles

Step 2- Add shows or movies to block

  • Type the title in the search box
  • Select it from the dropdown to block it from your child’s profile

Setting a Pin

Step 1 - Access profile settings

  • From your child's Edit Profile page, select "Profile Lock"

Step 2- Initiate the lock setup - Click "Create profile lock"

  • Verify your account - Enter your Netflix password and press Enter

Step 3 - Set your security PIN- Choose a 4-digit code and click "Save"

Once set, this PIN will be required to access the profile.

Turning Off Autoplay

Netflix's autoplay feature automatically plays the next episode of a TV show, which can lead to longer viewing sessions than intended. Disabling this feature can help manage screen time more effectively.

Step 1 - Access your child's profile settings

  • Go to the Edit Profile page

Step 2 - Disable autoplay

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page
  • Toggle off the Autoplay next episode option
