What Is Mobile Lifeline?

The Mobile Lifeline project is one of our most impactful initiatives, designed to provide young adults and vulnerable individuals with a fully functioning mobile phone and the connectivity they need to stay safe, connected, and supported. Many of the young people we reach are in or leaving social care, living in unstable housing, or facing periods of isolation. Without a phone, they can be cut off from vital services, friends, and opportunities — leaving them more vulnerable to harm.

How It Links to Our Wider Charity Mission

Why We Created the Project

Through our work with social services, charities, and community groups, we identified a growing crisis: young people without access to a mobile phone or data are often unable to contact caseworkers, arrange housing support, apply for jobs, or access mental health services. In emergencies, this lack of access can be life-threatening. Mobile Lifeline exists to close this gap and ensure no young person is left digitally isolated.

Project Goals

Supporting Our Donors and Beneficiaries

For donors, particularly enterprise-level businesses, we offer a professional, compliant, and reliable device collection service. Our trained staff manage every step of the process, from secure transportation to certified data wiping and refurbishment. We are already trusted by hundreds of organisations who benefit from our services, and our policies and systems enable us to be onboarded as an approved supplier/vendor. For beneficiaries, this project is a genuine lifeline, removing a barrier that too often locks them out of essential services and opportunities.

How it works

Donate devices

We collect donated smartphones from businesses and individuals.

Certified wipe

Every device is securely wiped using our sister CIC, Everyone Digital’s, accredited data erasure software, ensuring complete GDPR compliance and peace of mind for donors.

Refurbish & QA

Devices are refurbished by our trained technicians to a high standard before distribution.

Connect & support

We partner with Vodafone to provide a SIM card with six months of free calls, texts, and 20GB of monthly data, giving recipients immediate connectivity.

How You Can Help

Project Goals

We urgently need businesses and individuals to pledge unused smartphones to the Mobile Lifeline project. Your donated device could be the one that keeps a young person connected to safety, support, and opportunity. We also welcome financial contributions to help us cover refurbishment, accessories, and logistics costs. Together, we can ensure no young person faces the dangers of digital isolation.
