Every Child Online exists to make digital access fair, safe, and sustainable. We believe access to technology is no longer a luxury, it is essential for education, communication, opportunity, wellbeing, and participation in modern life. Yet thousands of children, young people, and families across the UK remain digitally excluded, unable to access the tools many take for granted.
Through our growing network of community-led projects, we collect, refurbish, and redistribute donated technology, connecting people to the online world while helping them understand how to use it safely, confidently, and responsibly. Alongside device access, we deliver digital literacy and online safety initiatives that support children, parents, schools, and community organisations navigating an increasingly complex digital world.
Working hand in hand with our social enterprise partner, Everyone Digital CIC, we combine professional IT Asset Disposal services with genuine social and environmental impact. Together, we help businesses securely and responsibly manage surplus technology while supporting ESG, sustainability, and social value commitments in a measurable way
From donation to transformation, every journey starts with a single device. A laptop forgotten in a cupboard. A mobile phone left in a drawer. An office refresh creating surplus equipment. Through Everyone Digital CIC our sister organisation, we professionally collect, transport, process, wipe, refurbish, and redistribute technology across the UK, giving devices a meaningful second life.
Every device undergoes secure certified data erasure using ADISA-accredited software and processes aligned with recognised international standards, including GDPR requirements and guidance from the UK National Cyber Security Centre. Businesses can be confident their data is protected while their unwanted technology creates lasting social impact.
Once refurbished, devices are redistributed to children, young adults, families, schools, charities, and community organisations facing digital exclusion. Equipment unsuitable for reuse is responsibly dismantled, repurposed, or recycled through our zero-landfill approach and 99% reuse target, helping reduce electronic waste and support a circular economy.
Our work goes far beyond simply handing out laptops. We build partnerships that connect environmental responsibility, digital inclusion, education, and community impact into one sustainable ecosystem. Every device collected has the potential to help a child access homework, support a young person into employment, reconnect an isolated family, develop digital skills, or protect someone online through better awareness and education.
For our supporters and partners, this is more than disposal. It is an opportunity to transform redundant technology into measurable social value, environmental impact, and real community change.
We measure our success not just in numbers, but in liveschanged. Since 2021, Every Child Online has:
Giving children and young people the tools to learn, connect, and build their future.
Keeping harmful e-waste out of landfill and putting technology back to good use.
Cutting emissions by extending the life ofexisting technology.
Refurbished and donated to those who need themmost.
Reused for parts or responsibly recycled, ensuring nothing goes to waste.
Providing mobile access to support, education, and opportunity
Strengthening the services that support children every day.
Reducing digital isolation at home and improving access to essential services.
Working with charities and social services to reach those most in need.
A community of people making real impact possible.
Our projects are grouped into four key areas that drive our mission:

Our workplace campaign invites employees and companies to donate unused laptops, phones, and tablets, transforming them into opportunities for children and families. It’s a simple yet powerful way for organisations to reduce e-waste, advance ESG goals, and inspire staff engagement.

Our national campaign that unites businesses around the circular economy. When companies donate surplus IT, they help close the loop cutting carbon, reducing waste, and preparing the next generation for the jobs their industries will need. It’s a movement proving that when technology is reused, everyone benefits: the environment, the community, and the economy.

We host community events where families receive refurbished devices along with guidance on online safety and basic digital literacy. Each event brings the community together, turning donations into direct impact and connection.

Unused mobile phones find a new purpose here. Each is securely wiped, repaired, and packaged with a new charger and a Vodafone SIM offering six months of free data, calls, and texts. The phones are distributed through social services to young people in or leaving care, providing them with a vital line of communication and independence.
View ProjectWe reach children and young people in need through trusted partnerships with schools, charities, and social service departments across the UK. Rather than distributing devices directly to individuals, we work through these frontline organisations who understand their communities best and can identify those most in need of digital access. This collaborative approach ensures that every laptop, tablet, or phone we provide goes straight to a verified child or young adult who will benefit most, supporting education, safeguarding, and social inclusion. Together with our partners, we’re breaking the cycle of digital exclusion and giving thousands of young people the opportunity to learn, connect, and thrive.
Our creative reuse project gives broken technology a second life, and people a space to express themselves. Using materials like circuit boards, hard drives, and wiring, our team and volunteers design jewellery, clocks, art pieces, and gifts. Its sustainability meets creativity: reducing e-waste, raising funds, and improving wellbeing.

A supportive pathway for adults rebuilding confidence after mental health challenges or unemployment. Working alongside our team, participants gain digital skills, structure, and purpose, often moving on to further training or employment. Many of our best team members started their journey here.

View ProjectWe’re proud to offer meaningful college work placements and schoolwork experience opportunities that give students hands-on technical and professional skills. Working alongside our team, they learn to refurbish computers, troubleshoot devices, and support real IT operations, gaining valuable insight into the technology sector. Many also represent the charity as Student Ambassadors at exhibitions and community events, helping raise awareness about digital inclusion and online safety. These experiences build confidence, teamwork, and career readiness, inspiring the next generation of digitally skilled and socially conscious young people.

We tackle subjects that matter:
Delivered through school workshops, downloadable guides, animated videos, and “train-the-trainer” sessions, this programme ensures that children not only gain access to the internet, but understand how to stay safe within it.
Our goal is simple: connect young minds, and protect bright futures.

Through our Community Outreach Programme, we bring digital access directly to local people by installing refurbished computers in community centres, libraries, and support hubs. These shared facilities give the public free access to the internet for learning, communication, and essential online services. Our trained volunteers are on hand to help users navigate technology confidently, from setting up email accounts and accessing government services to learning digital safety basics. We also maintain, monitor, and replace the equipment to keep everything running smoothly. Each site doubles as a space for digital literacy workshops and online safety awareness sessions, ensuring that everyone, regardless of background, can develop the skills and confidence needed to participate fully in the digital world.
View Project NOT LINKEDTo sustain and scale this mission, we created Everyone Digital CIC, our professional ITAD partner.
Everyone Digital provides secure, certified data-wiping, collection, and recycling services to hundreds of UK businesses, competing directly with profit-driven ITAD companies. Every client benefits from complete transparency: audit trails, data-wipe certificates, and ESG impact reporting that demonstrate measurable community benefit.
This model guarantees a continuous, ethical supply of refurbished devices for our charity, our school partners, and the communities we serve, while helping businesses achieve their sustainability and social-value goals.
We’re proud to work alongside Excel London, Allen Motor Group, Compass Group, BCD Travel, Trainline, Kennedys Law and many other forward-thinking organisations that share our belief that technology should serve everyone.
These partnerships have turned surplus corporate IT into thousands of learning opportunities and millions of pounds in social value, all while helping businesses achieve their Net Zero, ESG, and CSR objectives.
When companies work with us, they don’t just dispose of old equipment responsibly, they change lives
