REMUNERATION: UNPAID/VOLUNTEER POSITION (Potential for paid employment based on successful fundraising efforts)
Job Summary:
Every Child Online is a charitable organisation dedicated to providing underprivileged children with access to computer equipment and online resources. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Volunteer Driver to collect donated computer equipment from various locations in Essex, London, possibly further afield. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth collection and transportation of these donations, enabling us to bridge the digital divide and empower disadvantaged children with essential technology.
Responsibilities:
- Collect donated computer equipment from designated locations in Essex, London, and nearby areas
- Safely load and transport the collected items to Every Child Online’s storage facility or designated drop-off points.
- Maintain accurate records of collected items, including donor information and equipment details.
- Coordinate collection schedules with the organisation’s team and communicate any changes or delays promptly.
- Ensure that all collected equipment is handled and transported with care to prevent any damage or loss.
- Adhere to all traffic regulations and drive responsibly at all times.
- Provide excellent communication and customer service to donors, fostering positive relationships and representing the charity professionally.
- Report any issues or concerns regarding the collected items or the collection process to the designated supervisor.
Skills and Qualities:
- Possession of a valid and untarnished driver’s license.
- Prior experience in driving, preferably with a good driving record.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage collection schedules efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with donors and effectively represent Every Child Online.
- Enthusiasm for the mission and values of the organisation, displaying a commitment to making a positive impact on children’s lives.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Physical ability to safely lift and transport computer equipment, occasionally requiring moderate to heavy lifting.
- Flexibility to accommodate varying collection schedules, including weekends and evenings if required.

Note: As a volunteer position, this role does not involve monetary compensation, however as the charity grows this could become a paid position
