Inspiring Connectivity: Every Child Online Partners with Vodafone to Bridge the Digital Divide

Every Child Online is fast becoming a beacon of hope for countless underprivileged children and young adults since embarking on its journey to help eradicate digital exclusion. Through a critical partnership with Vodafone’s Charities Connected initiative, they are providing a lifeline of free connectivity to those who need it the most.

This newfound connectivity, supported by Vodafone, is not just a means of accessing the internet but an opportunity to excel in an ever-growing digitally reliant world. Every Child Online with its network of charity partners will harness this connectivity to empower teens and young adults in London and Essex, ensuring they can seamlessly access vital services and opportunities. With continued passion and determination, they will elevate the digital provision of their services and enhance the connectivity and digital skills of their dedicated employees and volunteers.

Vodafone’s charities.connected initiative is a ray of hope, open to registered charities. It offers the gift of free connectivity, tailored to enhance their digital capabilities, expand their services, and bring the digital world to the individuals and families they support. Every Child Online’s digital divide partners will now have the chance to receive this invaluable gift, in the form of SIM cards generously endowed with 40GB of data per month, along with free calls and texts for an entire six months, along with a free refurbished mobile phone.

Mike Tarbard, Chief Executive Officer of Every Child Online, emphasises the urgency of this mission: “Digital poverty existed long before the lockdowns. Now, the staggering scale of this modern challenge confronting our children and young adults is laid bare. We understand the profound impact that digital technology and connectivity can have. They enable us to reach out to underprivileged teens and young adults, providing them with essential support and opening doors to brighter opportunities. This gift of free connectivity, courtesy of our partnership with Vodafone charities.connected initiative, will not only empower our ongoing work but also bolster our efforts to eradicate digital exclusion.”

Catherine Russell, Head of Sustainable Business at Vodafone UK said: “We are committed to tackling digital exclusion.  We hope that by providing free connectivity to [add charity name] and the other amazing charities across the UK who have such an enormous impact on their local communities, we can help close the digital divide. We urge any organisation who thinks they can benefit to apply online and we look forward to hearing how this connectivity has helped.”

Vodafone’s charities.connected initiative is part of everyone.connected – its commitment to help four million people cross the digital divide by the end of 2025.
