About Us: Every Child Online is dedicated to closing the digital divide by providing refurbished electronic devices to underprivileged children and young adults. We are seeking an experienced volunteer technicians to join our team and help us repair and prepare devices such as laptops, PCs, and mobile phones.
Role Description: As a Volunteer Technician, you will play a crucial role in assessing, repairing, and preparing broken electronic devices to ensure they are in perfect working condition before being distributed to those in need. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in electronics repair, particularly laptops, who are looking to give back to the community while utilising their technical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and repair broken laptops, PCs, mobile phones, and other electronic items.
- Complete repair forms to document issues and actions taken.
- Identify and specify components needed for repairs.
- Manage and maintain equipment supplied by the organisation; if necessary, assist in the procurement of additional parts.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in repairing electronic items, especially laptops.
- Ability to troubleshoot and fix hardware and software issues.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Able to commit to a few hours per week or more.
- Willingness to collaborate with a team and work independently when needed.
